    Data-Driven Decision Making

Modern community management has moved past "gut feeling" toward a model of transparent, data-driven decision making. By combining member feedback with strategic alignment, community leaders can ensure their initiatives serve both the business and the participants.

The speaker highlighted a rigorous approach to feedback: "We make decisions using data, member feedback, and strategic alignment with our team and our company. Our process is transparent and considers multiple perspectives." This transparency helps prevent "misaligned communication," which is a common red flag in growing communities.

    Inclusion as a Daily Practice

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are often cited as priorities, but without tracking and goals, they remain aspirational. The session advocated for inclusion to be treated as an ongoing professional practice rather than a one-time project. This includes regularly assessing "who is missing" from the room and why.

"We have clear diversity goals that we track and we actually understand the representation and we regularly assess who's missing from our community and why inclusion is an ongoing practice for us."
