    Seeding Success with Ambassadors

One of the most effective strategies for launching a new community is avoiding the "big bang" approach in favor of a controlled soft launch. By identifying and recruiting a core group of engaged customers early on, community builders can ensure that the space is already active and valuable before the general public arrives.

During the session, the importance of giving these ambassadors specific, actionable tasks was highlighted. Rather than just asking for "engagement," successful builders provide a clear cadence for participation. This might include asking ambassadors to write two pieces of content or commit to commenting on threads twice a week for the first month. As the speaker noted: "From all these customers that I spoke with, I had then built my beautiful group of ambassadors... I'm going to do a soft launch, and what I would really love for you to do is write two bits of content, come in twice a week for the next 4 weeks and comment, ask a question, answer something. And they did that. And it worked really, really well."
