Social & Community Manager | Leo Burnett UK

We believe in the power of populist creativity to help brands grow, and have done so for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including McDonald’s and Kellogg’s. We’re a truly integrated creative agency, where great ideas can live anywhere - and increasingly, that means social.

We’re looking for a Social & Community Manager who lives and breathes social. Someone who understands what makes people stop, engage, share and talk – and knows how brands can genuinely earn a place in those conversations.

This isn’t a role focused purely on publishing content or moderating comments. You’ll be at the heart of our clients’ social presence, combining strong social thinking, cultural awareness and community expertise to make our brands feel relevant, human and part of the conversation.

We’re particularly looking for someone with agency and client-facing experience who is comfortable working directly with clients, presenting ideas and recommendations, and collaborating with creative, strategy and account teams to deliver brilliant social work.

    The Role

As our Social & Community Manager, you’ll help shape how our brands show up across social – from the content we put out, to the conversations we join and the communities we build.

You’ll be responsible for: • Social Strategy & Thinking: Bring a strong understanding of social platforms, audiences and behaviours to help shape social approaches for our clients. • Social Content: Work with creative and strategy teams to develop engaging, culturally relevant social content that feels native to each platform. • Community Management: Own reactive and proactive community management across our brands, responding to comments and DMs with personality, care and the right tone of voice. • Proactive Engagement: Look beyond our own channels to identify relevant creators, communities, cultural accounts and conversations where our brands can authentically participate. • Client Relationships: Build trusted relationships with clients, confidently sharing social recommendations, insights, ideas and performance updates. • Cultural & Social Listening: Stay close to what’s happening across social and culture – from emerging trends and conversations to changes in platform behaviour – and translate these into opportunities for our brands. • Social Reporting & Insights: Monitor performance, audience sentiment and community behaviour, turning data and observations into clear learnings and recommendations. • Social Planning: Support day-to-day social planning and content calendars, ensuring work is timely, relevant and aligned with wider brand activity. • Copywriting: Write sharp, engaging, platform-native copy that feels natural to the audience and true to each brand. • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with creatives, strategists and account teams to turn social opportunities into great ideas and campaigns.

What We’re Looking For • Agency experience: You’ve worked in an agency environment and understand the pace, variety and demands of working across client accounts. • Client-facing experience: You’re confident speaking to clients, presenting your thinking and building strong day-to-day relationships. • Social-first mindset: Social is where you naturally look first. You understand platforms, communities, creators, trends and what makes content genuinely engage people. • Community expertise: You understand that community management goes beyond moderation – it’s about building relationships, participating in culture and making brands feel human. • Strong social judgement: You know what brands should say, when they should say it and, just as importantly, when they shouldn’t. • Copywriting skills: You can write concise, engaging and culturally relevant copy that feels native to different platforms and audiences. • Cultural curiosity: You’re naturally plugged into what’s happening online and understand how internet culture, fandoms and communities influence brands. • Organisation: You’re comfortable managing multiple workstreams, deadlines and conversations at once, while remaining reactive to what’s happening in real time. • Collaborative approach: You enjoy working with creatives, strategists, account teams and clients to develop and deliver great social work. • Proactive attitude: You don’t wait for a brief to tell you what’s happening. You’re constantly spotting opportunities, conversations and ideas that could make our brands more relevant.
