    Role Overview

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) is seeking a proactive, target-driven, and relationship-focused Membership Manager to drive growth and retention across our largest revenue-generating region. Responsible for nearly 45% of IGLTA's global membership revenue, the US & Canada territory requires an agile professional who excels at both consultative sales and high-touch account management across all membership levels.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing our diverse membership base — ranging from local tourism businesses to large corporate partners, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs). The ideal candidate will balance high-volume member acquisition and retention with targeted engagement for key, high-revenue accounts. You will join a supportive, geographically distributed global team dedicated to advancing safe, inclusive travel for the LGBTQ+ community worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Revenue Generation & Market Expansion

    • Proactively identify, prospect, and convert leads into active IGLTA members across all sectors of the US and Canadian tourism industries.

    • Strategically target CVBs, DMOs, and large corporate tourism accounts to drive significant revenue growth and expand market presence.

    • Drive overall member volume while securing key enterprise-level and high-tier accounts.

    • Maximize total account value by cross-selling marketing packages, digital promotions, and sponsorship add-ons.

    2. Account Retention & Tiered Engagement

    • Manage full renewal cycles across all membership tiers in the US and Canada, protecting and growing the region's core revenue base.

    • Deliver tailored account management to large revenue-generating members while maintaining efficient engagement strategies for high-volume, standard-tier members.

    • Re-engage lapsed members through structured outreach and consultative selling to support global retention goals.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional member inquiries, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

    3. Team & Operational Integration

    • Maintain precise pipeline, lead, and renewal tracking within the membership CRM/dashboard.

    • Collaborate regularly with the global membership team to share market insights, refine pitch strategies, and align sales initiatives.

    • Attend weekly team syncs and represent IGLTA at regional trade fairs, industry events, and the annual IGLTA Global Convention.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in sales, account management, or business development, preferably within travel, tourism, or trade associations.

    • Residency & Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and reside in the US.

    • Industry Domain: Proven understanding of the tourism ecosystem, including DMO/CVB structures, large corporate travel entities, and independent tourism businesses.

    • Sales Track Record: Demonstrated success managing both high-volume sales pipelines and high-value key accounts using consultative selling techniques.

    • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills (e.g., French) are a strong plus.

    • Technical Skills: Proficient with Google Workspace, CRM platforms/dashboards, and virtual collaboration tools.

    • Work Style: Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely across multiple North American time zones.

    • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel within North America, including cross-border travel to Canada for trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive Package: Base salary paired with an attractive commission structure, plus standard US benefits package (health insurance coverage, paid time off, and retirement options).

    • Flexibility: 100% remote working environment based in the United States.

    • Impact: A direct role in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the global travel industry.
