Measure customer account coverage separately from user activity by defining which accounts and roles the community is intended to serve. Map people to accounts carefully, distinguish registration from useful participation and report where activity is concentrated. Keep unknown relationships visible so a small group of active members does not become evidence of broad customer reach.

A community report shows strong participation, but most replies come from a few accounts. Other customers may have no relevant route into the programme. Looking at accounts as well as individuals helps the team see that difference and investigate what it means for the service.

    Choose the account-level question first

Define why account coverage matters to the decision. You may want to understand whether eligible customers can access guidance, whether relevant roles are represented or whether an invitation reached its intended audience. These questions require different definitions and should not share one unexplained coverage label.
