To run an engaging hybrid workshop, you must design separate but equally valuable experiences for your in-person and remote audiences. This means abandoning the idea of a single, shared experience and instead creating distinct, interdependent roles. A remote-first agenda, specific jobs for each group, and dedicated facilitation are the keys to success.
Your last hybrid workshop was probably a failure. Let's be honest. Your remote attendees felt like ghosts watching a party through a smudged window. Your in-person attendees were distracted by glitchy tech and appeals to 'the people online'. You tried to please everyone and ended up pleasing no one. There is a better way.
