Combine coaching and peer support by giving each a clear role and showing members how to access both. Let peers share experience, practise and reflect together, while the coach remains responsible for the guidance included in the offer. Use clear feedback boundaries and review whether the combination helps members take useful next steps.
A thoughtful reply from another member can help someone see a problem differently. It can also leave them wondering whether the coach still intends to answer. Clear roles prevent a generous community contribution from becoming an accidental substitute for the support someone paid to receive.
Explain the two kinds of support
Describe coaching through the commitments you make. These might include a scheduled review, a facilitated session or a response to a defined question. Members should know which decisions receive your attention and what preparation helps you provide that support.
