Association member journey mapping is a collaborative process of visualising the member's entire lifecycle from their perspective. It goes beyond simple touchpoints to capture their goals, actions, thoughts, and feelings at each stage, identifying friction points and opportunities to deepen engagement, belonging, and ultimately, retention.
The marketing funnel is dead. At least, it should be for any association that cares about retention. A funnel is a one-way street to a transaction. Your members are on a looping, relational journey, and if you’re not mapping it, you’re navigating blind.
